How we began: a conversation about our roots
In 2007, veterinarians Márcio Ribeiro Silva and Daniel de Barros Marinho introduced an FTAI program in the herds of Empresa Marinho de Agropecuária do Pantanal. As the program grew, the need arose to automate data collection and analysis.
The challenge was to create a user-friendly system for recording protocol stages and pregnancy diagnosis, producing reliable reports and a standardized database. Management needed to happen during the breeding season, not just afterward.
In 2012, the team ran the breeding season using its own system, Insemina. Technology specialist Ricardo B. Nunes visited the farm to understand operations and develop the necessary features.
The experience of the farmer, researcher and developer came together to create Agribov. New needs expanded the solution to births and other activities, while maintaining the goal of bringing technology onto the farm.
